Bands in the Backyard is a monthly web series featuring local bands doing live and stripped down versions of their songs in a suburban New Jersey backyard. Kyle Costill, founder and editor, invites bands to his place for performances and interviews, filming everything for his website (www.bitby.tv). Costill and co-founder David Kain started this project in August of 2011, showcase different bands each month. They do plenty of live events as well, sometimes fundraising for other area music projects. Upcoming gigs can be found on their Tumbler (http://bandsinthebackyard.tumblr.com). The BITBY team just returned from SXSW where eight bands performed live in a backyard in Austin.
